It’s Labor Day, the unofficial end of summer. The weather is cooling down, and the pumpkin spice lattes are back in season. Yeah, like my daughter said! How was your summer? Mine was great! I had a lot of fun and got a lot done. How was your summer vacation? Have you travelled, done unusual activities or had memorable parties? Fantastic!
For parents, it probably flew by, and for kids, it might feel like it lasted forever. No matter which group you belong to, we can all look back on the summer season with a few cherished memories. Whether you spent time at the beach or stayed home enjoying family time, I’m sure there were moments you’ll never forget.
These memories and moments are still fresh in memory. How do you intend to keep them? How about your summer memories of last year or five years ago?
Often these end up sleeping in a directory on the computer or in a box. The memories come back to us as a flashback, and then they leave again. Photos are a way of remembering a moment. Still, they do not express more than what they illustrate in this split second for others. They do not tell the stories and feeling about the event.
How about simply listing out the different events chronologically for the summer? If you take some pictures, why not leave a note about some stories for future reference?
- For printed photos, you can write down some details behind them, including the date, who was there and a short story.
- All the pictures in your camera or phone? Please save a copy of them on your computer and store them in the cloud.
- Once on your computer, group them by events, and you can add a text file with the details about them in the folder.

By the way, this is where the memoFolio application can help!
Compiling these memories and identifying their participants leaves a trace of yourself for others. It is always interesting to read the detail about them after remembering our experiences.
Take a moment to capture these memories in your life chronology, for you, your loved ones and who knows, your future generations.
